Thank you for writing this article and thank you for acknowledging those of us who make pennies every month. We write out of love for the craft, as you note and we are happy when we learn that someone enjoyed what we write.

It is so irritating to see these articles that boast of how many hundreds of dollars the writer made after being on Medium for ten minutes. So many of us make little but enjoy writing and publishing anyway.

Now, if a writer boasts of how much money he or she makes, I either mute the author or if I was a follower, I stop following. I do not need to waste my time listening to another boast of how much money he or she makes on Medium. Such writers remind me of those who boasted of their successes when I was in public radio. Usually it was 90% inflated information.
