Try this experiment: look for two similar tragic incidents, one from the inner-city one from the white suburbs. Compare the coverage of both especially if the inner city case is a person of color. As I used to say when I worked in the inner city, “the media comes in only to get shots of the blood.”

Meanwhile, in the suburbs they will interview family, friends, neighbors and then end with a shot outside the church and the coffin going into the hearse. None of which is in the inner city coverage. It’s one of the many, many examples of just how slanted against people of color is media coverage.
