A Preview of my homily for Sunday
When I write my homilies, I try to relate each one to current events. So, after much research, I then look at what is happening in the world and use all that in my homily.
Although I do not mention it in the homily. I took a class in world religions at UMass/Boston prior to my transferring over to the seminary. There, I had the fascinating experience of when we studied Christianity in a room of many who apparently were not Christian, they expressed shock that in our faith sins are forgiven. People do not realize that in other religions particularly those that believe in reincarnation there is no concept of forgiveness.
Forgiveness is what defines Christianity.
So, that is what I focused on when I wrote my homily.
You can read a draft of Sunday’s homily here.
I will upload the recorded version of it on Monday. So subscribe if you want to receive it to your email.
In the meantime, have a blessed week and remember. Check out our podcast at CatholicAudioMedia.com and if you are in the Boston Area come to the 10:00am Mass on Sunday at St. Anthony Parish 43 Holton St. Allston, MA
